Type 2 to Type 2 EV Charging Cable
Warranty Period: 3 Years from Date of Purchase
Warranty Coverage
Top Charger warrants that your Type 2 to Type 2 EV charging cable will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of three (3) years from the original date of purchase.
This warranty applies exclusively to manufacturing defects and is subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions set out below.
What This Warranty Covers
This warranty covers only the following:
– Defects in materials arising from the manufacturing process
– Defects in workmanship arising from the manufacturing process
– Failure of the cable to perform its intended function due solely to a manufacturing fault
A manufacturing defect is defined as a flaw, fault, or imperfection that existed at the time of manufacture and was not caused by external factors, user actions, environmental conditions, or normal wear and tear.
What This Warranty Does NOT Cover
This warranty explicitly excludes and does not cover any damage, fault, failure, or degradation arising from or related to:
Environmental & Water Damage
– Water ingress, moisture damage, or corrosion of any kind
– Exposure to rain, flooding, standing water, condensation, or humidity
– Damage caused by failure to store the cable in a dry environment
– Damage resulting from leaving the charging connector exposed to the elements
– Damage caused by allowing water to run down the cable into the connector housing
Improper Use & Handling
– Misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper handling of the cable
– Use of the cable in a manner inconsistent with the product instructions or specifications
– Use with incompatible vehicles, charging stations, or electrical systems
– Exceeding the rated amperage, voltage, or power specifications of the cable
– Running over the cable with vehicles, trolleys, or other equipment
– Dragging the cable across abrasive surfaces
– Pulling, stretching, or straining the cable beyond its design tolerances
– Kinking, crushing, or bending the cable at extreme angles
Storage & Care
– Improper storage, including but not limited to:
– Storing the cable outdoors or in damp conditions
– Leaving connectors hanging downward where water can collect
– Leaving the cable lying on wet ground
– Failing to use dust caps or protective covers
– Exposure to extreme temperatures outside the operating range
– Damage caused by pests, rodents, insects, or animals
Physical Damage
– Accidental damage, drops, impacts, or crushing
– Cuts, abrasions, punctures, or tears to the cable sheath
– Damage to pins, connectors, or housings from physical force
– Damage caused by insertion of foreign objects
– Burns, melting, or heat damage from external sources
– Vandalism, theft, or malicious damage
Electrical Issues
– Damage caused by power surges, voltage spikes, or electrical faults in the supply
– Damage resulting from faulty wiring, installations, or electrical systems
– Short circuits caused by external factors
– Damage from lightning strikes or electrical storms
Modifications & Tampering
– Any modification, alteration, repair, or tampering by anyone other than Top Charger
– Removal or alteration of serial numbers, labels, or identification marks
– Opening, disassembling, or attempting to repair the cable or connectors
– Use of third-party parts, adapters, or accessories not approved by Top Charger
General Exclusions
– Normal wear and tear, including cosmetic deterioration
– Superficial damage that does not affect functionality (scratches, scuffs, discolouration)
– Degradation of materials due to UV exposure over time
– Damage to accessories, dust caps, storage bags, or peripheral items
– Any issue caused by failure to follow the care and maintenance guidelines provided
– Commercial, trade, or hire use unless the cable was specifically sold for such purposes
Conditions of Warranty
To make a valid warranty claim, you must:

Retain Proof of Purchase: Provide the original receipt, order confirmation, or invoice showing the date and place of purchase from Top Charger or an authorised retailer.

Report Promptly: Notify us of the defect within fourteen (14) days of discovering the issue.

Provide Evidence: Supply photographs or video clearly showing the defect when requested.

Return for Inspection: Return the cable to us for inspection at our request. We reserve the right to inspect and test any cable before approving a warranty claim.

Follow Instructions: Comply with any reasonable instructions we provide regarding the return or inspection process.
Warranty Claim Process
To initiate a warranty claim:

Contact us at customerservice@topcharger.co.uk with your order number, date of purchase, and a description of the fault.

Provide photographic evidence of the defect as requested.

If required, return the cable to us for inspection. We will provide return instructions.

Upon receipt and inspection, we will determine whether the fault is covered under this warranty.

If the claim is approved, we will, at our sole discretion, either repair or replace the defective cable.
Our Decision
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and verification by Top Charger. Our assessment of whether a defect constitutes a manufacturing fault is final.
If, upon inspection, we determine that the fault or damage is not covered by this warranty, we will notify you and may offer a repair or replacement at your cost. The cable will be returned to you at your expense.
Remedies
Where a valid manufacturing defect is confirmed, Top Charger will, at its sole discretion:
– Repair the defective cable; or
– Replace the defective cable with the same or equivalent product; or
– In exceptional circumstances, issue a refund for the original purchase price
We reserve the right to supply new, refurbished, or reconditioned products as replacements. Any replaced parts or products become the property of Top Charger.
Repair or replacement under this warranty does not extend or restart the warranty period. The original warranty expiration date remains in effect.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
– This warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty provided by Top Charger for this product.
– Our liability under this warranty is limited to repair, replacement, or refund as described above.
– We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of revenue, cost of alternative charging solutions, vehicle damage, or any other losses arising from a defect in the cable.
– Our total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the cable.
Statutory Rights
This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
Governing Law
This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
