Yes. Our Type 2 to Type 2 cable is universally compatible with all electric vehicles that have a Type 2 charging port. This includes EVs sold in the UK and Europe, such as Tesla, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Kia, Polestar, MG, Renault, Peugeot, Vauxhall, and many more.

We recommend a 7-metre cable for most situations. This length provides flexibility for different parking positions at home and public chargers without excessive cable to manage. If your home charger is positioned very close to where you park, a 5-metre cable may suffice.

Type 2 is the standard EV charging connector used across the UK and Europe. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable connects your vehicle's Type 2 port to a Type 2 charging point, such as a home wallbox or public charger. This is the most common cable type needed for everyday charging.

Most home wallbox chargers are "untethered," meaning they don't have a cable permanently attached. You'll need your own Type 2 to Type 2 cable to connect your vehicle. Some chargers come with a tethered cable, but having your own portable cable is still useful for public charging.

Yes. Our cable works at any AC public charging point with a Type 2 socket. This includes most destination chargers at supermarkets, car parks, hotels, and workplaces. Note that rapid DC chargers (50kW+) have their own tethered cables and don't require you to bring one.

Our cable is single-phase, rated at 32A and up to 7.2kW. You can plug it into a three-phase charger or outlet and it will draw the maximum single-phase current of 7.2kW.

Simply plug one end into your vehicle's charging port and the other end into the charging point. The connectors only fit one way, so there's no risk of incorrect connection. Your vehicle and the charger will communicate automatically to begin charging.

Yes. EV charging is designed for overnight use. Your vehicle will stop drawing power once the battery is full, and our cable is rated for continuous use. There's no risk of overcharging.

Yes. The cable's IP54/IP55 rating means it's safe to use in wet conditions. However, avoid leaving the connectors lying in puddles or exposed to heavy rain when not plugged in. Always use the dust caps when storing.

Store your cable in a dry place indoors when not in use. This is crucial to prevent theft and exposure to extreme weather. If using a wall mount, ensure the connectors face upward with the end caps attached, or sideways to prevent water ingress. If storing in a bag, make sure the cable is dry before packing it away. Avoid tight kinks or sharp bends.

Wipe the cable with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Top Charger includes a black microfibre with every cable purchase. Do not use harsh chemicals or submerge the cable in water. Keep the connector pins clean and free from debris.

Shipping is completely free on all orders, with no minimum spend required.

We use Royal Mail Tracked 24 as standard, so you'll typically receive your order within two days after shipping. If Royal Mail experiences delays, we switch to DPD next-day delivery. All orders include tracking.

No. Royal Mail Tracked 24 does not require a signature. Your parcel will be left in a safe place or with a neighbour if you're not home.

Yes, provided it hasn't shipped yet. Email us at customerservice@topcharger.co.uk and we can change your delivery address, add or remove products, adjust quantities, or apply discount codes.

Currently, we only ship within the United Kingdom.

We offer a 30-day returns policy from the date of delivery. Items must be unused and in their original packaging. If you've simply changed your mind, return shipping is at your cost. If the product is faulty, we'll provide a free returns label.

Our cables come with a three-year warranty covering manufacturing defects only. This means faults in materials or workmanship that were present from the point of manufacture. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, water ingress due to improper storage, or general wear and tear.
